My name is Carlota, and my story is that of a biologist from Madrid who, despite growing up far from the coast, always felt that her true place was at sea. My fascination with cetaceans led me to leave the city behind and dedicate my life to studying their lives and behavior in some of the world’s most fascinating locations.

My academic journey began at the University of Madrid, but my real specialization started in Greece, where I spent a year fully devoted to studying these remarkable animals. That experience marked the beginning of a journey that has taken me from the icy waters of the Faroe Islands to the extraordinary biodiversity of the Canary Islands.

Over the years, I have learned that studying cetaceans is not enough; it is essential to understand their environment and the challenges they face. Working in different marine ecosystems has taught me that knowledge is the most powerful tool we have for conservation.

Today, my greatest motivation is to continue learning while sharing my respect and love for the ocean with everyone who visits us in Tenerife.
