John

Half Welsh, half Canarian, John is a marine biologist with a deep love for the ocean working with us since 2018.⁣

Brought up in Tenerife, he graduated through Portsmouth University. He has worked on marine conservation projects locally and around the world. With a background in conservation and offshore fisheries, he now leads our whale watching tours as a guide and skipper. ⁣

A certified WCA (World Cetacean Alliance) guide and Marine Environment Interpreter, he enjoys being out on the water educating, spreading awareness and bringing people and whales together.

Ion

Biologist & Skipper

Born in a small fishing town in the Basque Country, Spain, Ion always had a special curiosity for the sea, leading him to complete his studies in Marine Sciences and Coastal Area Management at the University of Cádiz.⁣

He has also served as a PADI diving instructor all over the world (México, Belize, Malaysia, Indonesia…) finally taking him to Tenerife, where he had his own diving school until COVID19, when he decided to embark on a new direction in his life.⁣

Certified as a marine environmental interpreter, he also has experience in secondary education.⁣
Ion has found a new passion in whale watching that allows him to spread his knowledge, love and deep respect for the marine environment.⁣
